Anyone know how training for nursing works being in the Air Force? |
Any details and information would be great!! There are basically two categories of nursing in the USAF. TGhe first category would be Nursing Core (NC) commissioned officers. These are indiduals that have a 4 year (or better) degree in Nursing, are registered nurses or nurse prattitioners. There is a lot of additional training available for these people. The USAF, has its own nursing schools for things like flight medicine, surgical nursing, and nurse anesthetists. Likewise there are other military training facilities that USAF nurses may attend which are run by the Army and Navy. Officers may also take advantage of the AFIT (Armed Forces Institute of Technology) to obtain advanced degrees (such as a Masters) when they met certain criteria for time in service, rank, etc. No, but I've found a link that you may find of interest. Look below. |
