Would you consider this as equality?

(no offense meant to our muslim brothers and sisters. i have a few muslim friends and have lived in 2 arab countries)

why is it that a lot of muslims in most arab countries want the right to express themselves be honored when in other countries but they dont want to honor other people's rights to express themselves when in their countries. in saudi arabia for instance, to practice one's religion or even just to hold a conversation with the opposite sex is prohibited. mutawas or the religious police would just appear out of nowhere and would flog you in public. muslim nurses/doctors in uk and ireland are demanding to be allowed to wear their head
cover in theater/operating room just like what they do back in their countries. but female expats again in saudi are forced to wear abayas/black body cover even in summer. the muslims i have asked about this stated it is done to protect the expats from other muslims not exposed to the free world. or is it?

You gotta understand a lot of these Muslim/Arab immigrants are coming from countries that have a "It's my way or the highway" mentality. So when they move to these Western nations like the US or UK were everyone is entitled to their opinions and expression, it feels alien and out of the ordinary to them. Not to sound racist or anything, but I personally think a lot of them feel it's "wrong" for other people to have an opinion on something.

It's true that they immigrate to these Western countries, then get angry about the fact that they are surrounded by so many non-Muslims. What really gets me is the fact that some of them have dared demand that the UK or US change it's ways in order to accommodate them. Example, some of them want to replace the laws we have now with Muslim law.

I can guarantee you that if a Westerner were to go to a Muslim country and freely express his/her opinions and say that that country should abandoned it's Muslim traditions and adopt Western ways, that person would run into a lot of trouble. Yet they still feel it's okay for THEM to come to Western countries and demand that that country change it's ways and adopt Muslim laws.

While the Muslims I'm referring to are only a handful out of Muslims in general, their the ones who get all the media attention. So while it would be wrong to judge all Muslim/Arab immigrants based on the actions of a few, I understand what you mean and I see were your coming from. Unfortunately though, you would most likely be labeled a bigot and a racist if you were to voice your views because of the politically correct society we live in.

Best wishes.

Saudi Arabia demands to build a Mega mosque in the UK. But they wont allow a church to be built in Saudi Arabia.

It's cause it's a theocrasy. 500 years ago all western nations where theocrasies. They would never have allowed a mosque to be built.

Arabs did not have any shakespear. Or any Mozart, or "dirty" paintings the past 500 years.

But look at the UAE, 100 years from now it might be different?
