What was your most embarrassing doctor visit?

Mine was when I was to have in-office surgery to remove pollups from my nose.
I was ordered to strip down to my underwear. The nurse then held my hand and led me to the waiting room. There was a mother and daughter there who wouldn't turn their heads. They both watched every step I took. I tried not to look at them.

I wanted to run back in the exam room but tried to remain dignified as if I wasn't ashamed. The nurse then led me to the receptionist counter where she had me sign insurance papers and waivers. Two other secretaries rose from their desk to watch as I stood there signing the forms. (My body felt hot as I must have turned twenty shades of red.)

I was then led into the operating room. I was seconds from being operated on when the doctor refused the surgery. He said my blood pressure was way too high. I said, "Well, duh. I wonder why?"

I was was led back to the waiting room to redress in front of the mother and daughter. I was told to reschedule but never went back.

I don't really have an emberassing doctor visit, but I just wanted to say that even though that must have been so terrible, to read it was hilarious!!!

You should write a book, you have a knack for writing. Report It

I'm not real crazy about prostate checks..

When I went to a gynocologist when i was 9 yrs old . I had started menstruating and my mother took me to see a dr . to explain. thats it.

my foutrh grade physical. My doctor is a huge guy. I had to strip down with nothing on and i had big boobs for that age. My mom was also in the room. I did like my whole 1 1/2 physical naked. I was really fat in fourth grade.

Gosh, they neglected to treat you with the dignity and privacy you deserved. I don't blame you for not returning there.
My most embarrasssing visit was the week after the colonoscopy, when I met with the Dr. to have the photographs of my colon explained. I wish they'd have given me meds at that time!

please tell me your story took place 20 years ago when there weren't such standards! That is simply awful! Sorry that happened.

Hopefully you went to a different doctor who didn't make you parade around the office in your undergarments.

My most embarassing was wisdom tooth extraction. I'm allergic to most pain meds so they gave me the laughing gas (NO2...aptly named LAUGHING GAS). I cracked the nurses up, and my roommate (who drove me) said I asked one to marry me. Who knows what her response was.

That's nothing. You should thank God you're not a woman. Try having to ware only a paper gown and having to "spread eagle" in front of a doctor and nurse when you have your pap smear. Now that's embarrassing.
