What are the hours for an operating room nurse? |
I just need a general idea ... how many on/off, sort of thing. Just like any other nursing position, it depends on the job position and what you agree to work. You could work part time or full time, you could work 8 or 12 hour shifts, you might work every other weekend or every third, you might work a combination of shifts (day/evening/night) or straight shifts (all eves or all nights - straight days is hard to get unless you have a ton of seniority or work at an out-patient surgical center that isn't open nights), and you may or may not be expected to have on-call shifts. It all depends on where you work and what job you agree to take. most work a 8-12 hr shift 5 days per week and have to be on call a couple of weekends per month It is usually 8 hours a day with 2 days off and oncall assignments. |

Surgical technologist use to be called Operating Room Technician. Sometime the ST is called a scrub nurse. Most of their training is limited to working in the operating room, but they can find job... In teaching hospitals many operating rooms are set up more or less as theaters, with areas where interns and students can observe a procedure. Many of these hospitals refer to all operating room... OR nursing is a lot different than many people imagine it to be. When you are the circulating RN on a case, you really don't do much other than prep the patient on the table, and document, doc... Mean= E[X] =(Total number of hours)/(total number of people) = =(12*1+ 32*5+35*7+ 38*8+ 42*5)/(1+5 +7+8+5) = 35.8 Variance = E[X^2]-[EX]^2= (12^2*1+ 32^2*5+35^2*7+ 38^2*8+ 42^2*5)/(1+5 +7+8+...
