My 4 month old has a rash on her face.......?

I am trying to get her an appointment with a pediatric dermatologist but in the meantime, I wanted to know what it could be. Her pediatrician gave a cream but imo it's not working to make it go away. The cream makes it dry. She has had the rash for about 4 weeks. Sometimes it has pus coming out. it's red and juicy looking. any nurses or doctors around?? I keep the rash clean with just water because I do not want to put any thing on it.

Have you changed her diet lately? Usually things like this start because of a trigger, ie diet change, or environmental change.

Basically before trying to treat something try to figure out why it's happening all of a sudden.

Some kids just get rashes on their face . My 3 year old has had them since birth (not no puss though). I don't put any cream on them because it burns him. But he usually only get them in the winter time.

My baby developed a rash on her face which I discovered was a reaction to the baby shampoo I was using on her hair. Look at all products you are using on any part of your baby (wash, lotion, wipes, powder) as well as laundry products. My daughter has sensitive skin, but by avoiding products that irritate her skin, she is now rash-free. I recommend never using baby wipes on your baby's face. Also, just because a product says it is safe for babies or delicate skin, it doesn't mean your baby won't be allergic to it. Ask your pharmacist for products you may be able to use.
There are many creams you can use to treat the rash, but it is much better to remove the cause.

not a medical specialist just a past time father. It sounds like an allergic reaction. I had an allergy to Tide laundry soap (powder form), I started to narrow it down by when the rash occurred and what I had done etc. finally found the common element I got it after a shower...from towel drying. We had a dog that got a rash similar to what you describe, he was allergic to a spray on shoe shine. Think back and see if you did not start something new or take her to a new place.. then start to figure out what was new. in mean time use hypo-allergenic soaps and shampoos. still get the pediatricians advise...he sees many cases and might help with items to check for.

I haven't tried this myself but my girlfriend applied regular Vaseline to her newborns face and it cleared up the red bumps.
