Should Foley Catheters Be A Requirement?

Should Foley Catheters Be A Requirement For Urine Tests During Pediatric Checkups Sometimes A Nurse Or A Doctor May Not have Enough For The Nurses And Should It Be A Requirement To Ensure There Is Enough Urine For The Test

Absolutely, positively not.

Catheterization is uncomfortable for any patient, and particularly a child.

Anything that could potentially come from adequate urine testing does not outweigh the risk and danger involved with introducing bacteria into the bladder.

Is someone suggesting this as a possibility?

Definitely not. Anytime you insert a catheter into someone you're taking a chance on giving them an infection. I think that if there's a need for it, that's one thing, but to just do it as a matter of routine, is wrong.
