Is that Jesus knocking?

A nurse on duty a pediatric ward often gave the children an opportunity to listen to their own hearts with her stethoscope. One day, she put a stethoscope into a little boy's ears. She asked him
" Can you hear that? What do you suppose that is?". The little boy frowned, caught up in the wonder of this strange tapping inside his chest. Then he brok into a grin and responded, "is that Jesus knocking?"

if that is really Jesus knocking, how do you let Him in? do you listen to His call and heed His commands?

thank you for your answers!

Who and how He promoted the question through, is His knocking at the responders ( not literally ) hearts. What might well be someones last day and final opportunity to receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, they will once again ignore the call and count this moment as a simple child's tale. But in fact, His way is simple, " Behold I stand at the door knocking, If any man would hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him and sup with him and he with me"! Rev. 3v.20

how can it really be jesus knocking. its your heart. even i knew that when i was young. jesus is just a human being.

Someone needs to tell him its his heart. Let him get a little older before some priest comes knocking.

Thats a cute story, and an interesting way to think about a heartbeat. I am a science person myself so I don't really believe its Jesus knocking. Heed your own commands girl, listen to yourself. If you start to hear voices contact your local psych ward.

Nice story. He seldom makes his presence know to me in such an overt way. I am reminded of his Father's creativity whenever I look at the world around me. There is beauty to be found everywhere.

after we let Jesus in, Who's gonna knock to our hearts now?

It is a very nice story.

The answer to the first question is, of course, "Probably."

There is no way we can rightfully conclude that at the same time the nurse gave the boy the stet, there was no one by the door, with the name of Jesus, knocking.

And if that was really the case, the way to let him in is to open the door. And if he says he's come for the breakfast tray, I'd pick up the tray and hand it over.

And if he says, "Jump", I'd ask "How high?".

I see most answers tend to be a bit pessimistic about Jesus or doubt his existence. I presume Jesus has knocked on their hearts several times in their lives but either they refused to listen or did not hear his knocks because they were so busy doing other mundane things.

The next time Jesus knocks might be too late for you. Don't let that opportunity pass you by. It could mean your salvation.

that was a touching story.Praise be to God to whoever raise such kid.

Interesting that non-believers who respond to this post are labelled pessimists!
I believe in teaching kids the facts, and as we can safely say it was his heartbeat, don't tell him otherwise!
I don't believe that Jesus was a divine being, or that he "knocks" anywhere. I just try to listen to my conscious and do the right thing. You don't need to be religious or believe in the supernatural to do this.
Please, lets not be critical or condescending to those people who do not believe in god or christianity. It doesn't make you a bad person!

jesus is always welcome in my heart.

JESUS KNOCKS AND CALLS ON US THROUGH OUR HEART.

So if I'm going to receive Jesus, I open my heart and let Him live inside me and let my mind and soul heed His commands.

its a nice and touching story..some who answers here are anti christ i guess.
anyway..god is always knocking to our hearts..its up to us if we let them in.me personally,i am not religious i dnt go to church every sunday..but i trully believe in GOD.all the things here in the world is created by him.so that our life here will be more easier..see?how good GOD is..he dnt want us to suffer when we were born,,he gave us air to breathe food to eat shelter and clothes..its so nice to think that GOD really love us!
hope we cud return back what GOD did for us...he is so great!

there can be two sides of this one side of course some people would say the scientific side and say no but on the other hands theres a religious side and say yes maybe thats is jesus knocking. try him to hear the stet agen and if he say it is jesus knocking first thing you wanna do is pray to the lord and stuff like that and on the scientific hand some would say cute little story but jesus can't knock but WE ALL dont really know
