My daughter is almost 2 months old and will only sleep in vibrating bouncy seat.?

I know some people say to let them cry but it goes on for hours and even if she does actually finally give up and dall asleep it only last for about 15 minutes then she is right back to screaming. Even tightly bundled she will not sleep in bassinet or crib even when head elevated. My husband says not to worry she'll grow out of it but I worry that she won't. I'm a pediatric nurse who cares for infants which makes this even more frustrating. Please help!!

its ok to let them sleep in the bouncy seat
both my kids slept there for the first two months
try using the baby bath that has chamomile in it its called bedtime bath from Johnson& johnsons, use the lotion with it, then give her a bottle and she should pass out to sleep, it works on my daughter and shes 7 months now, and sleeps all night long

My daughter would only sleep in her bouncy seat or being held. So I just stocked up on the batteries. I think it was when she was about 4 months that ended and she was able to sleep by herself, now she is almost 2 and fine, there was no long term effects that came about because of it.

I would say do whatever works to get her to sleep so you can get some sleep. You are right at that phase of parenthood where the exhaustion has really set in.
My 11 mo. old daughter lived in her vibrating chair when she was that age. We tried to get her to sleep in a craddle, etc. and nothing worked but that. There is comfort in that vibration, maybe it reminds them of the womb or something.

Right now, I personally think she is too young to do the "cry it out" method right now. She needs as much comfort and love as you can give her. You can't spoil a baby that age. Alot of peer reviewed articles and Pediatricians say you can't spoil them until they are about 6 mo. old.

She will grow out of it. She is just getting used to her surroundings still. I am sure it must be very hard to be a ped's nurse and not have all the answers. Just remember, every baby is different and different things work at different times. Next week she might only like her swing!

Vibrating crib mattress... Works GREAT!!! My sons loves ours and he's almost 7 months.. he doesn't need it but it helps when I know he's dead tired and fighting sleep.
Good Luck!

If it works, use it! When she's older and you can use the cry-it-out method, or some other method of your choosing, to do sleep training without causing harm emotionally, then do it. But until then, do what helps her sleep. Her getting sleep is the priority right now. You should know how important sleep is for her.

My son would only sleep in his car seat for the first 5 months, so I propred it beside my bed and that's where he slept, It wasn't worth the fight at such a young age. Eventually you can move her into a crib and she will adjust, but it's not going to hurt her, just because he is not laying completely flat. Whatever works for you and her is what works, don't worry about what others say and do. Hope that helps you feel better about it. Good Luck!
P.S. I think that my son felt more snuggled in his carseat and when I put him in his crib it was to much of an open space for him.

maybe try a vibrating basinet, or they have vibrating crib mattress thinges i think. i think i am going to run into the same problem later on, cuz my son is 2 weeks old and he sleeps in his vibrating chair so i can have him right by me :)
