Does my 13 month old have pink eye or something else?
Yesterday I called the pediatric nurse because my daughter had green globby stuff all around her eye. It was also red and watery and she kept rubbing it. Well they called me in a prescription for eye drops. Today her nose is running. Just a little bit but it is running. Should I take her to be seen or is this common? This is my first child so I'm new at this! Thanks for your input! Oh and the stuff isn't always green. Sometimes its yellow or whitish. Thanks!

It sounds like pink eye. If the eye drops start working then don't worry. If her runny nose is clear, don't worry. Probably just viral. If that starts turning green or yellow, it might be an infection that needs to get checked out. You really need to look for symptoms like fever, tired, not eating well. If she starts having any of those symptoms, I would take her to see her doctor.

If its greenish or yellow, that is a sign of an infection. You should take her to the doctor right away. If she does have pink eye and is rubbing both eyes she would spread it to the other eye.
