Strawberry tongue? |
if a child has a "strawberry tongue", it is usually indicative of scarlet fever. The tongue will look very red and swollen and the taste buds will be raised. I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced this also with strep throat in a child? My son had the strawberry tongue but no symptoms of scarlet fever...unless they are going to develop within the next few days. I have not done a strep test yet, due to the fact I just noticed the tongue today. I'm a pediatric nurse practitioner, so I can just do the test at the office. But I am wondering if anyone has ever noticed this in their own kids. i don't have any kids, but i'm fourteen and i've noticed it in myself. |
