Any pediatric doctors/nurses on here?

I have a ? My 4 y/o has been taking Enulose syrup (laxative)for about a week now for constipation. Now she has a fever. i ve given her some childrens ibuprofen for the fever. can i continue to give her both medicines? will they interact? shes constipated right now and really need to go, but i was afraid to give her laxative after the ibuprofen

Has she had any bowel movements since the lax?
The fever, eh, could be completely different issue. Unless she's not had any BM's, I'd guess it's not related. The meds can be taken together, the laxative is going to work on the GI issue and ibuprophen is a fever reducer, and helps with inflammation. I'd go ahead and give the lax, but in addition, call your pediatrician office monday, and check her diet, offer apple juice, grape juice these things tend to help loosen up the bowels.
Best Wishes. Sorry she has this going on.

no more laxatives, have her drink more water, gatorade, etc. after she is well increase her fruit/fiber intake and exercise more. She shouldn't have this problem - are you giving her vitamins w/iron?

im not a nurse - yet
but i when my daughter needs to go - i give her an enema (baby lax, but im not sure the oldest age for that)
and ive also given her tylenol at the same time.
im not familiar with enulose syrup.

you dont want her to be dependent on the laxatives.
you should increase the fiber in her meals.
you should be able to call your dr office - most pediatricians have an on call triage dept for nights and weekends.

hope she feels better!!
