What do you have to major in to be a Pediatric Nurse???

To become a pediatric nurse the person must be a registered nurse (RN), as well. A registered nurse requires a licensing exam and need to go to college (two- or four-year degree). Most nursing programs insist on the student having a Basic Life Support certificate, and a standard first aid class, which must remand current. For a registered pediatric nurse education, it is the same as a RN only the nurse can get a certification of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses. Although not required, a nurse might have a bachelor's degree.

Best to get a bachelor's degree in nursing as a minimum from an accredited university. For higher earnings, you should consider a master's degree in nursing with a pediatric specialty.

There are many ways to get there. You can get an associates degree (2 yrs), bachelors degree (4 yrs), or a masters in nursing. Once you get your nursing degree you can pick a specialty. You can always advance after you start working also. Many hospitals will pay your tuition to continue your education. Good Luck!
