What do you have to major in to be a Pediatric Nurse??? |
What do you have to major in to be a Pediatric Nurse??? To become a pediatric nurse the person must be a registered nurse (RN), as well. A registered nurse requires a licensing exam and need to go to college (two- or four-year degree). Most nursing programs insist on the student having a Basic Life Support certificate, and a standard first aid class, which must remand current. For a registered pediatric nurse education, it is the same as a RN only the nurse can get a certification of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses. Although not required, a nurse might have a bachelor's degree. Best to get a bachelor's degree in nursing as a minimum from an accredited university. For higher earnings, you should consider a master's degree in nursing with a pediatric specialty. you need to go to nursing school. You can try a technical school for your lvn, or go to college for rn either way you have to be licensed. There are many ways to get there. You can get an associates degree (2 yrs), bachelors degree (4 yrs), or a masters in nursing. Once you get your nursing degree you can pick a specialty. You can always advance after you start working also. Many hospitals will pay your tuition to continue your education. Good Luck! |
