IVF Chances with raised FSH Levels?

TTC for a while without success so gone for IVF, Private. I am 38 and husband is 46. We are down the road as far as starting treatment on Monday on first day of next cycle. However, I have a raised FSH Level 11.9 (Average is about 10) Not mega high but nevertheless high. Nurse told me today that when I go in on my first day of my cycle, I will have a blood test to check my FSH but my consultant has put a cap on the level at 12. If I am above this, I wont be able to continue with treatment until my next cycle. Has anyone ever experienced this. I am stressed now that my levels will increase and I wont be able to start treatment. Is there anything I can do to bring levels down?? Please, any advise would be really useful.

It may be hard to find any advice on here about this subject b/c I haven't seen many IVFers with high FSH post on here at all. Here is a forum especially for women TTC with high FSH: http://www3.fertilethoughts.com/forums/f... Hopefully, it will have some info for you, or you may want to post this question there for somegood advice.

I have heard something about wheatgrass maybe to bring down FSH levels. Here is a thread that talks about it: http://www3.fertilethoughts.com/forums/s... I don't think it is just hype, either. I have seen a lot of women post and say it helped them. http://www3.fertilethoughts.com/forums/s...

Good luck!

I believe there are various things you can do to lower your FSH levels, but it's best to ask an expert, either your RE, or you can also get a second opinion from another RE, you can ask one online for free, see source below, good luck to you!
