Opening a Home Health Care Agency? |
Thinking about opening a small home health care agency in a large metropolitan area in Texas. I'm the only employee right now, but was wondering what kind of licensing I'll need. I only want to accept private insurance and for right now, the office will be in my home. The services that we offer would be those that a nurse could provide. How do I do the billing? Also, any tips or recommendations? Thanks everyone! How/Who should I advertise to? Any pricing recommendations? Thanks again! Entrepreneur magazine publishes a how-to guide on starting a Home Health Agency, you may want to look into that. As for pricing, just call the competition and price yourself competitively to them. Dont go cheaper, people are suspicious of lower-cost home health - and for good reason. LOTS of fly by nights out there. You can advertise to seniors, disabled populations, etc. Lots of publications and networking groups that cater to these. Go to www.score.org and find your local SCORE office. They offer free consulting to help you start up, and they are SBA affiliated so they are not a scam. |
