Can a doctor be in trouble if....? |
they announce your you have symptoms for something infront of people, that it isnt in private? Basically i went to the doctors with my mate and we were there for nearly 2 hours despite having an appointent and after we thought shed finished, the doctor said she could go, but the nurse said she had to stay for a bit longer for some reason. So after another wait we decided that we wud tell the receprionist that we were leaving and explained that we had to go home. It was at this point a different nurse/doctor said they wanted to see my mate and she got annoyed that we were going to leave(this is after much waiting!)and siad in annoyanace "do u want me to talk to you here?" my mate said yes cos she didnt have any symptoms for anything, she just went for a chat with the doctor and tests that wouldnt be known for a couple of weeks. So she wasnt expecting th doctor to reveal she has the symptoms for something and in front of people! Surely this is unprofesional? Yeagh i realize this, but she didnt expect any news as she didnt have symptoms for anything. We didnt know they could run a smal test there as its the first time shed been to this doctors surgery. Never had that at any other doctors. The doctor did ask her later if she had symptoms and she said no, then the doctor was like - "oh!" cos she didnt expect that. Basically this doctor was very rude for the situation. If your still at the doctors a couple of hours later and u didnt expect to still be there, what right has she got to be annoyed. I mean how does she know what your plans are, or if you have o go back to work for a meeting or something! I mean my friend wants to complain. Your friend was still entitled to privacy and if the doc had something to say to her, she should have made your friend aware that she needed a word in private and said that it wouldnt take long. Well to be fair, they did ask your friend whether she wanted to talk to her there so the doctor was covered when she asked that. not indeed.you should persue a complaint since you are hurt psychologically It is very frustrating having to wait so long but your friend was given the opportunity for privacy..You are entitled to complain ofcourse but i doubt it will get you anywhere.. This is very unprofessional. They have nor right using the attitude the doctor shouldn't have spokien to your friend like that in the 1st place, she was obv upset about waiting, she should of been more gentle, report this doctor, they have broken the rule of patient confidential i would also change doctors too If your friend made a verbal agreement to let her personal medical info be discussed in public so the doctor could blame her for that but generally they take an oath to protect so you can report him a council or medical board. There is a rule known as 'doctor/patient confidentiality'-anything in her records has to be kept private between them. The doctor behaved extremely unprofessionally, and if I were your friend I would file a complaint. |
