Testicle exam?

My boyfriend asked me a strange question and I actually couldn't answer him. He asked me, when a man goes for a medical, why does the doctor/nurse ask him to cough while checking his private area?

When the doc asks you to cough he/she is palpating the testicles at the same time. The doc is feeling for lumps or fibrous tissue that may be a problem (cancer). If the doc doesn't see anything odd, or feel anything, often if there is a lump a cough will make it more apparent.

Maybe to check if he wees when he coughs indicating weak bladder, but don't know why the docter has to check that area lol x
