Funeral home abuses...if any?

Okay, here it goes...There are all kinds of abuses that hit the evening news channels (an some times before we all can even get home to watch it). There are businesses that abuse the system, teachers, police, doctors, nurses, hospitals, public and private individuals & people in the entertainment world not to mention the polititians and sports players. We are all held accountable to a higher standard. However, when it
comes to the funeral industry...the news anchors on TV are strangely silent except for an incident once in awhile. The key word is "incident" and is not reported like a "News"-" Life
Style" as are all of the others I've mentioned above. If any of us step out of line...Oh No! But the funeral people never seem to get reported (you might say they do not get reported on a comparative ratio) as do the rest of us...Why is that?

I know they are regulated by the state. Where would any of us find this information on funeral home abuses and any kind of rating system on them?

Have yourself cremated. Simple as that. We as a society go through this ridiculous ritual of wakes and funerals. Who cares? I don't. What do I care what happens to me when I'm dead. I could care less. The funeral industry makes us believe that we need an elaborate send off. Spend your money on something really important. A wake and a funeral means nothing.

Perhaps because the funeral industry is the most highly criticized one of all!! All you ever hear is how we are crooks, liars, theives, we take davantage of people, etc., etc., but has anyone ever stopped to check if that is true? NO! That 's because its more fun to say that we are weird and morbid, and that we molest our customers. It wouldn't be goood publicity to show how we get out of bed at 3 am to go get someone's dead grandmother out of their living room, or how we spent hours and hours trying to piece a 16 year old back together just so his mother can see him one last time, or how when a baby dies, we do the services for free and donate a casket and pay for the burial plot. Right, it wouldn't be fun to report all those acts of kindness. Most funeral directors are very kind, compassionate and genuinely want to help people. So please, before you give us any more undeserved crap, please know what you are talking about.

Been in the business for over 20 years now and the reason abuses arent really reported is that all our abuses get "buried"........If there is a problem most funeral directors/embalmers blame it on something or something else (i.e. The hospital got the certificate signed late or Mom doesnt look good because of the jaundice...all BS Excuses)

When the Funeral Director reuses a caket nobody knows....its buried or when he sells a casket for cremation and takes the body out PRE CREMATION....NOBODY IS THE WISER.
