Should the nhs be run by private business?

to cut the number of managers in a hospital,hire more cleaners/nurses/doctors etc

bop it - i have to defend my fellow cooks in the nhs,the food is only as good as the hospital buys

Here in the USA our health care "system," such as it is, is run by private business. As someone who dealt with those businesses on more than one occasion, the answer to your question is: NO!!

sumert needs to be done coz its in a shockin state....i was in hospital recently and i seriously thought i would either get a disease or die of neglect..it was sooo bad, i discharged myself after a week of havin 16hrs of brain surgery..thas how mingin n sh8t the nhs was..not enuff staff, no bedding..terrible food, faulty equipment... hahahaha ruddy ell

just look at what happened on the railways,everything contracted out to private companies,lack of maintenence,poor service,and someone taking all the profits

no because the private company/business who runs might go out of business and people will have to pay for healthcare

with the NHS people get free health care that cannot go out of business because it is paid for by taxes

i work in the nhs.nurses,doctors,admin workers,managers,domestics,porters is what is the nhs.whats needed is the nhs to be run by nhs workers who give a damn,not people making bonuses as to how many people are seen

Most definitely not. Firstly the number of managers would not be cut very much, rather on the workers at the bottom end like cleanres would be first be cut in numbers. And, as we have seen with other previously state owned companies that have been "privatized", even with staff on high level, like doctors and nurses, which it is all about to provide a good service there will be "economising".
I am not a resident in Britain, but it is to my knowledge the only western European country that has an institution like the NHS providing free medical help for everybody. Keep it that way, you are still in a very privileged situation.

it needs to be run by people that care. right now , no one cares. ok sorry i know the doctors and nurses care, but the bosses, the NHS in general do not care about individuals. they care about numbers, money and targets. the poor patient is bottom of the list of priorities.

The NHS is run as a business, just not very well.
There are too many chiefs and not enough indians.
I have been saying for a long time to bring back matrons as they used to be. They ruled the wards with a rod of iron but hospitals were clean and mrsa was never heard of.

Desperate measures need to be taken but on improvement in what's already in place. I spend a good deal of the year in another European country, their medical care can be second to none but boy to they need to pay for it? I know from working just how much we pay to our NHS in contributions but believe me getting the PROPER private care can be a real costly business elsewhere.
