47000000 citizens have no health ins. U.S,1 of few industrialized nations not 2 offer national health ins why

We have over 47,000,000 US citizens without health care. Why are we still one of the last Industrialized nations not to offer national health care for its citizens? While knowing we pay more for health care, are charged higher fees- yet we are are still some of the unhealthiest (recent report done in GB & Jama?)
We also have the highest growth of "rich" and the highest growth of "permanent poor". (summarized content from Senate hopefull H.Webb's site and Gov. acct office 2004 or 2005) with no caps on what pharmacutical companies, hospitals (private), nursing homes, health equip supplies, etc can charge. I have found NO logical reason (except greed) for the health care crisis we have in this country - and I have researched it- yet nothing is done.

Hillary Clinton made a half-baked attempt to appease her socialist cronies. Until someone takes a serious stab at this issue, nothing will get done. The fact of the matter is, neither the republican or democrats care about the average American. The reason is there's no money in it.

It's too expensive to take care of all the people, especially when you consider how much money the government pours into the "defense" budget.

Hillary Clinton tried when her husband was elected President, but she couldn't get any takers for her plan. She and Ted Kennedy tried again four years ago... but what do we hear about it?

I think that it really is a shame, but I have no answers on how to get anything done about it.

The lobbyist make sure we do not have this. The health care profession makes more money this way. The doctors and other health care providers would make less money. It is a crime against the people in our country and we should be ashamed.

The government is the last entity that I want to entrust with my health.
The main reasons are money and quality of health care and medicine.
Providing quality care is expensive and I will pay more to get the best care that is available. If you can't afford that or choose not to spend your money on your health care, I should not be force to accept a lower quality of service for your selfishness. Not everyone can afford a Porche or a Bentley but we don't mandate that everyone can afford to buy a car. Public Transportation is not a mandate so that low income people can travel, it's an answer to gridlock in cities so that commerce can take place.
Developing medicines is an expensive proposition and lenghty process those costs need to be recouped and funds need to be allocated to new research.
As for medical supplies I have no answer why a simple knee brace costs $1000 other than greed. But medical supplies like MRI machines and e-ray machines cost a lot because they have long life spans and very few purchasers so the manufacture wants to be able to stay in business.

We should required people to have private insurance not tied to their job and only take care of the truly worthless.

This will give us universal health care, lower prices, have less government involvement, and all will be helped by competition.
