How to make my mother-in-law happy ? |
My mother-in-law is 85 years old, has broken leg which was operated since 4 years ago and suffering diabetes since even before. However she can still walk slowly using medical chair, cook in the kitchen and pray on her bed but most of the time just laying on her bed with 24 hours assistance from her private nurse. Above all, we, children are all admire her strugle for life and she never complaint about her condition. She has also no financial problem though also not rich. Now, could you give me an idea of what can I do to make her happy other than giving her a gift on her birthday and proper attention to her ? Try to be with her Take her out for a stroll in the park. Let her have some daylight into her eyes. Talk to her - make her life worth living is having close relationships. give her alot of care...thats wat she needed...more over if she is not a grand mother yet, make her a grand mom as early as possible :) shoot yourself You should give her something to make her feel good...she probably has all that she really needs and may not be anxious to get more "stuff". Get her a spa treatment, thearaputic massage, facial, or something along those lines... i think just taking care of her, talking to her and making sure she has family around her and isnt alone, is truly the best that she can have at this time of her life. talk about how things were when she was young, i know older people love to talk about that. Spending time with her and letting her know you love her is the greatest gift you can give.. If she has grandchildren, then get the grandchildren to do crafts with her. Or, when you have a special day out with your children, give them cameras and let them take pictures. (or even the adults take pictures) Then, come over one day and talk with her and have the children tell her about their day. (You could cook her a meal : ) ) |
