What do you do as a RN nurse?

Kinda curious. Do you see alot of blood. Im a little interested in nursing but at the same time blood / surgecial stuff can prevent me pursuing that path

Go to this link. It will give you all the information in your post plus a lot lot more. It is the U.S. Department of Labor website.

Peace and blessings!

Nursing isn't near as glamorous as shown on TV....You have to have a genuine desire to help others. Its something you need to feel strongly about going into-because often times you work too short handed, too many hours and have too many patients.Trust me it's not about the money or glamour. With all that said it does give you a deep down good feeling when you have helped someone through a serous illness, recovery, and that wipes out the bad experiences you might have. Another plus I have experienced is having a young girl come up to me and tell me she wants to be a nurse just like me because of how much I have helped her dad-that's what makes it all worth while-all rewards aren't monetary!

You will eventually have to get over the fear of seeing blood and bodily fluids if you want to be a nurse. Even if your career doesn't put you in the path of those things, your schooling and clinicals in school will have you dealing with "blood and guts" and you will never pass if you can't take that kind of thing. Perhaps nursing is not the career for you.
