Should i tell someone?

OK long story short-in work one of the radiology nurses was basically slagging off the radiographers and students to a student nurse (i am a student radiographer)

i found this really offensive and i thought it was extremely un-professional-after all she should be discussing her complaints with senior staff not new students!!!!!

i finish this placement in 3 ish weeks-should i keep quiet or say something??

Think you'd be better not gettin involved, as you are close to finishing.. She will get whats coming to her, don't worry about it.. Isn't a nice thing tobe going on as you say though, is abit childish and unprofessional. But some people are like that!

I'd say something. You are right - if she has a genuine gripe, she should be doing it through the correct channels and not putting off students who aspire to the profession. Unfortunately there are people like her in most workplaces.

From past experience i find it better to be straight with this person. You could try and get her in a quiet corner and explain to her that you are as much valued in that hospital as she is and at one point she would have been new to the job. And if she still carries on then i would have a quick word with your superior but ask them not to name name's (ie you). I have been in a VERY similar position and i just hope this helps you at all! .x.

Do it anonymously, just in case it's a test.

You see unprofessional behavior in every profession. That's just reality.

You might want to save complaining about it for when someone is in actual danger.

Have a word with the Senior radiographer, she shouldn't be in the dept if she is so fed up.

I think you should learn - this is how all women act at work, regardless of their profession. You're young, you'll learn. If you grass on her, you will probably come out worse.

Tell her, if she has a complaint about a person then it should be made to senior staff, not students. She could be putting her job at risk, if senior staff find out, then she could face disciplinary action, which may include suspension.

I would say something (report her), but in a NICE way.....maybe talk alittle with her. but then go to a 'higher in charge'

Sweetheart sometimes if it did not directly affect you it is best just to leave it alone. People like that will not waiver one way or the other if you were to say something to them. try to ignore her comments as long as she isn't saying something directly about you and finish your remaining 3 weeks.

first off, do you intend to place there? if so, i wouldn't say anything. if you don't intend to place there, tell your instructor (i assume you're still in school). he or she will note it, and may look into it with the other students, in case they may have heard or seen the same behavior. if he/she deems it a problem, they will contact the hospital/clinic you were at, and say something without your name being brought up.
this is a reality in the hospital. each department has their own problems with another dept. it will not go away. it's just something that is.
you showed your professionalism by not being aggressive and confrontational. kudos to you!
sorry to hear you were subjected to that. better luck if you have another rotation at another place!

Keep quiet for now... unless you are directly harassed
Work out your trial period before taking on any controversial issues, unless of course Health and Safety laws are being contravened.

Keep it to yourself until an opportune moment. You're not going to make any friends if you reveal 'secrets' like that; and believe me, friends in your workplace is very important.

Just keep that person in mind and always treat him or her with caution. He/she is obviously not entirely trustworthy.

I would have to report her if it was me cos she wont stop there. If she gets away with it once she will do it again.
