Radiology tech or respiratory therapist?

I have to decide by January which program I want to apply for and I am having a hard time, I dont really know a whole lot about either but I was going into nursing and decided to do something more specialized, anybody with experience have any suggestions, thoughts? any oppinions are appreciated, thanks!

Sorry sister hazel, but radiology is very safe.

I suggest the asker spends a couple of days job shadowing in both areas to get a better idea of what the jobs consist of.

As a professional patient- I would go with respiratory- fewer long term risks.
Choose one now- it doesn't mean you have to live it for the rest of your life.
The more you're around the profession, the more you'll find your niche'.
The most important thing is you must enjoy what you're doing because the people you are tending to deserve 100% effort and kindness.
Good luck. God bless. Love you!

If I were you I would try to get in touch with some students that are currently in each of these programs. Ask them questions and see how they like the choice they have made. You could also see if the school has anyone who can give you some pointers that has recently graduated.

I think that they are both very good choices and have a tremendous potential. I actually considered both of these areas before making my choice.

Good Luck.

AVOID RESPIRATORY THERAPY.........
shadow in x-ray dept for a day, then ask questions, you will find out that x-ray has more opportunities to advance to such as nuclear med-or-sonopgraphy. remember hospitals work nights/weekends/holidays. do you want that?
retired resp therapist. rrt.
