Are CVTs under credited?

Hi! I am a Certified Veterinary Technichian. My question is since human nurses are RNs, shouldn't CVTs be VRNs (Veterinary Registered Nurses)? I apologize to the many helpful human nurses, but CVTs do not seem to get the credit for learning various medical sciences for the many different species, including humans, we are required to know and understand. Also, NONE of our patients can tell us what is wrong, and observing the signs of illness is a science in itself! I'm curious if it's just the area I live in, or if the lack of credit is everywhere. Many animals have been domesticated for the convienience of humanity. Pets are considered an enrichment to human lives. If Veterinarians and CVTs are not available to care for the pets, livestock, wild animals, all animals, zoonotic diseases would surely have RNs begging for a break. Opinions? Answers?

most people don't know what cvts do or the knowledge they have. I think that it would make more sense to call them veterinary nurses like they do in europe. in many cases however to be a cvt you only need 2 years of schooling compared to at least 4 for a RN, but then again the pay is significantly different. You cant expect someone to go to school for 4 years and get paid the crap salaries that cvts get paid.
But yes, cvt are very important and can provide so much help to vets and clients.

Yes I do believe so..............
