Please Help!!??!!? |
I talked to my dad鈥nd he said that he doesn鈥檛 want me to do registered nursing because he said that RN鈥檚 give medication to the sick people, and dad is strictly a natural health person鈥 don鈥檛 want to disobey dad and go ahead with nursing鈥o do u think that if I chose to be a dental hygienist or dental therapist鈥ould that be a good alternative?? Please help ~ I need ur advice! Thanks! :) a good alternative would be Physical Therapy...a Physical Therapist takes care of stroke victims and helps on massaging the poor people.. I would go about being a nurse. You can't let ANYONE tell you what you can and can't do. I'm sure your dad has said at least once "You can be whatever you want to be" so remind him of that. Nursing is a great career, and you should go for it Tell your dad that not everybody is like him, there are people who are weaker and need your help, just keep talking to him with reason and hopefully he will be convinced. Just make up your mind girl do whatever you really want to do, follow your heart besides you will be the one committed to your work not anyone else. in that way no one to blame..... If you're old enough to make decisions about what career, you don't need any ones approval. A career is what you will be doing for you, you're life and income. Make sure it is something you really want to do--- Best of Luck! Doctors are the ones who prescribe the meds. Its up to the person taking the meds whether they want them or not. You can do all sorts of different things as an RN. You could be a case manager, or a diabetes counselor, or work for an advise line. The possibilities are endless. Read about ALL the different things you can do in nursing, he will feel better. You could also get a BS in human biology, if you want to work in a helping field that will open up a whole lot more possibilities. Dental hygienist is kind of a dead end job. If nursing is something you are passionate about, I think you should pursue it. Talk to your dad and explain to him why this is your path in life. Hopefully, he will understand. A compromise could be studying homeopathic nursing, which incorporates natural remedies with traditional medicine. Try the site listed as my source as a jumping off point or just type "homeopathic nursing" into any search engine. Good luck! This is going to be the job you do from 9 to 5 every day so make sure you like it.It's easy for your dad to say no and you get stuck in a job you don;t like. |
