What is the difference between RN's and RPN's? |
RN's as in nursing(Registered Nurses) and RPN's are (Registered Practical Nurses) also known as Licensed Practical Nurses in the states. RPNs are allowed to make some decisions and prescribe certain treatments without a doctor's order. |

... I don't know about a full job description, but both small hospitals where I had clinicals hired LPN's rather than RN's for neonatal nurses. Neither of these hospitals had NICU'... no lpn's are never bosses over rn's that have the further education, the degree & the state licenese. its not legal anywhere! ...RN's, LPN's, STNA's and family members if allowed by the POA (power of attorney). It could be that one particular patient has more problems swallowing and the nursing home may ma... I use to work at a facility for the seniors and its difficult because no one comes to see them only to pick up the money and they still give it to them but i think they should be more careful with... a good alternative would be Physical Therapy...a Physical Therapist takes care of stroke victims and helps on massaging the poor people.. hmm.. you can do teaching if you want, or musician..but ... most people don't know what cvts do or the knowledge they have. I think that it would make more sense to call them veterinary nurses like they do in europe. in many cases however to be a cvt... Licensing for midwives vary from state to state - some states even forbid non-nurse midwives from practicing. Therefore, your best bet is to follow the nursing paths. ... |
