Sudden increase in my babies thirst?

Hi, my daughter is 14 months old and over the last couple of days has been drinking a lot more than usual, she has 8 oz of milk with her breakfast and is having 5-6 full beakers of juice (apple and mango pure juice mixed 50/50 with water, to stop her getting bunged up ) and then 8oz of milk at bed time. This seems a lot to me and was just wondering what you all think ? Obviously the first concern with increased thirst is diabetes, but as a registered nurse I know the other symptoms and she is not displaying any of these, she has not lost weight, is no different in herself, no fever etc. She has her MMR on friday so I will mention it to the health visitor but what do you think ? thanks

have you checked he mouth for thrust?? if could be due to that

active kids get thirsty

my son has 3 swallows of milk before school
a half pint of juice and milk at school plus drink at snack and 2 cups water

then drinks 3-5 more cups of juice after school and hes four

Check for diabetes anyway. Not all the symptons do come up. I wasn't eating when i was diagnosed and your supposed to eat more too!

could it actually be the apple and mango making her thirsty? try substituting a beaker of this for just plain water

try some water. Everything seems to be going good. I take care of 4 children plus my own infant so we go thru alot of juice and milk. I also give them lots of water. it keeps them hydrated. They also like the fact that i give it to them in water bottles. at 14 months they need alot of fluids to sustain their energy. Keep her hydrated. If she is active like most kids her age are she needs the other stuff too besides juice. She needs water. Good Luck.

Provide more milk and less juice, also give water. Too much juice is not good even if it is 50/50. Mr doctor said no more than 5oz for a child that age

My ped.said atleast 16 oz milk and when I told her my son who is 15 mths gets 14 oz.of water and 4oz juice a day she said that was good. She said they dont need no more than 4 oz.of juice. The juice,I put in with the water cups cause he doesnt like plain water.I put about an oz.to 5 ozs water.the increased thirst might be because she needs more water and less juice. Also,if your using heat now that can dry one out too.If she is eating things that are dry or salty it could make her more thirsty.Hope this helped. All I know is what Ive experienced myself.
