Which is a better career choice nursing or registered dietitian?

Which is a better career choice nursing or registered dietitian?

For which profession do you have more talent and more int erst? Both are interesting and important. Talk to the people at the nursing schools and the dietitians as well. Why not study both?

I'm biased...nursing

Nursing you can always do both. But as a nurse you will always have a job!

Well since we are always in demand for nurses, I would have to say that nursing is a better career choice. I am actually wondering whether I should major in nursing or political science (to be a lawyer) this year. Anyways, best of luck on your choice.

A basic nurses aid or registered nurse degree would be the best because you can use these and apply them to any setting. A doctor's office, a hospital, a nursing home, anything. a dietician on the other hand can only do so much. you could even get your nursing degree and then later on add to it with the dietician. nurses usually tend to also get better wages.

Nursing = Better Job opportunities

I'm unclear, Shokria, what you mean by better. Higher pay, better benefits, opportunities for advancement, flexibility in obtaining jobs, less working hours etc.?

I'd say go for becoming an RN i.l.o. Dietitian. The job opportunities are far greater, the pay range is better, benefits should be commensurate between the two, the opportunities for moving laterally in the field of nursing (ie. Pediatrics, Surgery, Internal, ER etc.) as well as vertically are higher, the working hours will be more as an RN.

My Mom was an RN. Maybe, I'm prejudiced. But, as a little boy, growing up it was great knowing that your Mom would be at home to fix you up and nurse you after falling from your bike.
