What are three differences that registered nursing and license practitioner have.? the term licensed practitioner can mean a registered nurse, a registered nurse practitioner or any of several levels of licensing - i think you are asking about the difference between a registered nurse and a licensed practical nurse - if so - #1 - a registered nurse has a great deal more education and usually graduates from a 4 year college with a BSN - an Lpn education is usually vocational and carries no degree. #2 - RN practice level is higher and more specialized - Starting IV's, Transcribing MD orders, Supervising LPN practice. #3. RN's get paid a heck of a lot more than LPN's - there are lots more differences. A registered nurse can push iv drugs. They sure do get paid more. And there are certain drugs that RN's can give that lpn's can't. a rn is the one that just takes your blood pressure and your temp. etc. but they get paid more, because i think they do more paper work. im taking up lpn in may because its 2 years. |
