What is the importance of Registered Nurses?

I need supporting material to back up the answer...

Registered Nurses are amazing! They have an immense library of medical knowledge in their heads. The education these nurses receive is intense. They are the next best things to doctors and most times they are doing more of the actual work than the doctors. Doctors and patients alike can not funtion without Registered Nurses. And, in order to stay licensed, they are required to continually take more medical classes. They are extremally important in the medical community.
