What is your opinion regarding Registered Nurses???

i am one just try to find out the public opinion

my opinion is different since i am a nurse, but usually we get treated well and respected by most patients, doctors are usually the same, but there are always some that have to break the mold........most people think that we make a lot more money than we really do.....considering that we hold lives in our hands its not nearly enough.......but it gives you a great sense of accomplishment to save a person life and to hear the thank yous that you receive

I think they are great, they do all the work and the doctors sign the discharge papers.

Honestly...and with all due respect...I think some parents know more than Nurses and Doctors about certain things.

I think RNs are a valuable part of the medical profession. They are usually the ones on the 'front lines' when it comes to caring for patients. If I wasn't so squeamish, I would become one!

Registered Nurses are a blessing for sick people...:))

aren't RN's the one who have to do all the "grunt" work, or the "dirty" work, so to speak? i have a lot of respect for them, but some are unskilled, unsociable, or just suck at their jobs in general, much like any other profession.

if they are polite, and show a bit of human compassion when trying to take blood, find your veins, etc, then i have no problem.

this is a good job for hard worker and one who has a lot of patience and devotion. but i am not sure if its well paid or not.

I have several aunts who are RNs. I think they are wonderful, caring people who keep the healthcare system running and are more human than many Docs. I think they are not paid enough for what they do (same as teachers) and that we do not have enough of them. Thank you for choosing this profession and for sticking through the education to become a Registered Nurse.

Registered nurses are wonderful, but the Licensed Practical Nurse is just as valuable in our society and they get far less recognition.
