Should registered nurses fill in when specialty units are short staff? |
Should registered nurses fill in when specialty units are short staff? They fill in for everything else, why not? absolutely not! although we as nurses have been cross-trained in all facets of nursing to become registered, technology has greatly increased. unless you are familiar with a specialized unit you should not be pulled from unit to unit and expected to function with the same expertise. trust me when something goes wrong because there is was something you missed or failed to do it will not save you in front of the board of nursing. |
