What is the Governing Body for U.K. Social Workers? Do they have to be registered like Doctors and Nurses? |
Doctors and Nurses have to be registered centrally before they can practice. The General Medical Council controls and can strike doctors off the register. The Nursing and Midwifery Council does the same for those professions. So is there a similar statutary disciplinary body for social workers? Report It Not sure about the governing body, but you now have to be qualified to say that you are a social worker...otherwise you are classed as a support worker.
