How to get H1 visa for nurse (RN)?

hi, i am nursing (F1 visa)student here in US, and i am going to graduate in May of 08. And probably i will get my RN license in june 08. i am not sure but i heard that Government start accepting H1 applications in April, and last year they stopped taking new applications in four days because it reached to its max level. so for me i am going to graduate in may and i can only work after i get my license which is June 08, so that mean i will have to wait for april 09 to apply for H1 visa? Or is there any other way for Registered nurses?

You cannot apply for H1 visa on your own. A company/employer in US has to sponsor you and file the h1 petition for you with USCIS. you can apply for Optional Practical Training/OPT OPT which allows you to work in the US legally for 1 year after you finished your study.

many F1 students are able to find a job/ h1 sponsor during the OPT period. good luck.

nope, no other way. you gotta get that H1 visa in order for you to be able to work legally in the US. and like they mentioned, applications are only accepted in april. since you'll be able to get your license way after this year's april... you have to wait for the next april to come in order to send in your applications.

My company can place you upon receipt of OPT and will sponsor you for adjustment of status. Please email byoung@hccaintl.com asap.
