The Nightingale Pledge

The Florence Nightingale Pledge, Hippocratic Oath for Nurses.

http://www.cybernurse.com/florencepledge...

The Nightingale Pledge was composed by Lystra Gretter, an instructor of nursing at the old Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and was first used by its graduating class in the spring of 1893. It is an adaptation of the Hippocratic Oath taken by physicians. More鈥?.

I would choose something that is evidenced based as well as something that is a national or international concern. This way you will have many published studies to use and can associate global issues to local issues. It will also mean there are a whole lot of graphs already done and there may also be a local agency that tracks your community statistics. this will show that you can take peer reviewed data, incorporate it into your local issues, and show ways that your practice can be adapted to improve the issue. HIV/AIDS, TB, low birth wt/infant mortality are some of the ones that come to mind, as all three are a concern in my community.

I am not a doctor or a nurse, but I feel that if it is a topic for a paper you will have to work with for a while, you might want to choose something that you are interested in.

I don't know if these suggestions qualify, but if I had to do something about health, I might do something about vegeterianism...

I was also watching a video about old people in the U.S. and how the problems they are facing. I'm nto sure but I think I remember that there may be a lack of nurses to take care of the growing number of senior citizens.
