Registered nurses making $75/hour?

im an RN, my mom recently found a want ad calling for nurses to make $50-$75/hour, however she lost the ad. this seems ridiculously far fetched to me but what can i say, it peaked my curiousity. anyone know of any RN's getting paid more than 50/hr as staff nurses?

Wow that sounds really high! In my area, beginning RN's start at about $20-25 per hour. plus then you can get differntial pay for evenings and weekends.

Could the add possibly have read that the pay was $50-75k per year? instead of hourly?

That would be more realistic. That would mean $25-38 per hour and that seems very reasonable if you are closer to a big metropolitan area.
If you can't find the ad, and you know what newspaper it was in, try researching on the newspaper's website. They probably have a job ad section and you can look up history.
Good luck!

I have several family members in nursing, and the highest pay that I know of is a Nursing Supervisor who is in charge of a large Cardiology Department in a Major Hospital, 30 years experience, with dual Masters Degrees in Nursing and she makes around $90 per hour.

The highest paid RN generally makes $40-$50 per hour in the same hospital. The hourly pay increases with experience and further education.
If any hospital was looking for nursing staff, I am sure that they would have positions filled quickly in that price range. There are not enough nursing students to fill all the openings.

Good luck, I hope you find that ad again. Sounds like a great opportunity.
