Are registered nurses needed as much as they say?

also is it a satisfying field? and for any RN's out there: what field of nursing did you decide on?

yes, nurses are very much needed. Especially in the hospitals. I would do something like acute care, telemetry ICU or ER nursing. You get to use your skills.
I find nursing very satisfying and the pay is good.

your qualified. those rb are very lazy

Absolutely!!!!!!

I find it very satisfying. I have always worked in Geriatrics.

Though there is a significant shortage now, in the next 5-15 years that number will likely double. Reason being the baby boomers are reaching retirement age! I have tried case management for a managed care org(desk job), acute care(hospital), and home health. I returned to the hospital setting ~8 years ago and this is where I'll be until retirement, which is where the majority of RN's work. Very satisfying work, though you must be able to experience a broad range of emotions...the good balances with the bad. good luck
