Do i need a blood test before i get registered? |
i want to be a registered nurse, i wanna know whether i have to do the blood test before i enter the hospital Yes...you have to show proof of immunity either by getting a Hep B titer (blood test to show you've had the Hep B series) or get the series...it's 3 shots..given in timed intervals within a 6 month period. I don't know if you can get a job in the medical field if you have Hep B...they will also check your MMR status...either by seeing your shot records or doing a MMR titer...which is a blood test to check for immunity. During all this pre-employment screening, they'll do a TB skin test...they inject a small amount of liquid under your skin in your fore arm...you have to get it read in 2 days...to see if you have a reaction to it...if you do, they send you down for a chest x-ray...if you don't you have to have another TB test in 2 weeks..and that gets read in 2 days....if that one is clear too, you're good to go. Yes howdy I would hope that nurses have to have blood tests for obvious reasons. I expect you will be told at the recruitment process and the hospital will carry out the blood test they see fit - assuming you consent of course. Hi La Petit Mort I like your name! yes nowadays you do. |
