Starting Pay for Registered Nurses?

I am very curious to know what your starting pay was when you became a Registered Nurse and where you were located, so I can approximate the real cost of living wage with the real starting wage of an RN. Thank you =)

Depends greatly on where you live, as well as your speciality.

A new grad med/surg nurse in Colorado Springs starts around $23/hr ($33,000 annual).

An experienced ICU or ER nurse gets about $30/hr but up in Denver it would be around $33/hr.

Critical Care, CCU, ICU, ER, Orthopedics, Urology, Gyn,

65,000-85,000

I think it's about 55,000.
Btw, if you do the overnight shift... it pays more
