Yes you can take some classes online but others will require practical/hands-on work.

Here's a list of accredited online colleges that offer online nursing programs.

Check them out, request for information so you can be informed on how best to go.

Good luck!

I don't know, you could probably google it. But being a nurse isn't just about memorizing medical facts. It's VERY hands on. Personally I'd be very skeptical if I knew I was being worked on by a nurse who earned their degree online. Just my 2 cents.

If your classes include English, Math, and History, you can start with online classes, but you will eventually have to have on site classes.

No....you have to become an LVN (licensed vocational nurse) first. Then you could take online classes to upgrade your degree to RN...and to get the LVN you must work outside your computer. Trust me...I researched this alot...I used to live in Germany with my military husband and I really wanted to get my RN online but couldn't...this was recent.

Training to be a nurse entails practical experience and assessment of nursing skills in addition to book-learning.
Do some knowledge-based studies such as Biology, Sociology and Anatomy to get some basic qualifications. Once your child is old enough for you to consider childcare, then try and get a place at nursing school. you may need a plan to reach this long-term goal, but you can do it with some career advice and home study as a start.

You can get started online, but at some point you will need to take lab courses and higher level nursing courses in person. But probably two years could be done at home. Check with your local public college or community college and see what the options are. You need a certain amount of math, English, chemistry, biology, microbiology etc. that can "mostly" be done online.
