How many years does it take to become an RN (registered nurse)?

How many years does it take to become an RN (registered nurse)?

There are several options open to you. You can take a 2 year course, get an Associate degree and then sit for Boards. I highly recommend you contact a 4 year college and get a BSN - bachelor of science in nursing. The degree is invaluable in upward movement in just about any health care field. It also affords you the opportunity to further your career opportunities by going forward with a Master's degree and therein lies the BIG bucks and the BIG career opportunities as a Clinical nurse Specialist or a Nurse Practitioner. Nursing is not only a rewarding career, it is also financially rewarding. Best of luck in whatever you choose. You will be literally begged to work by so many facilities that it is mind-boggling.

my mom is a nurse. it took her 4 years.

2 to get an associates degree and be an ADN

4 to get a bachelors degree and be a BSN

Both are RN's but BSN's have an easier time getting hired.

4 years

4 yrs (trainings and other qualifications para 2)

4 if you go fulltime...there are some states that accept a RN certification upon passing the state exam and that could be a program at a community college that takes 2-3 yrs...do it...I am about to start...money is great but also long hours...there aren't any nurses (RN) that work less than a 12 hour shift...in order to work in a dr's office, trust me, you have to put in your years at the hospitals! lol
