Do you think i should become a registered nurse?

does it make good money? and isnt there a need of them?

yes you will never be out of a job. how much u make depends on where u work.

yeah you should. they are in high demand and it only takes like two to four years to be an rn.

yes and yes but the real question is; would it make you HAPPY? If you don't think it would, then don't go for it

There is a high quality of need to become a RN nurse or any other nurse. They have great compassion for their patients and make good money. They also work about 13 hours a day. I am too becoming a nurse and I am alrwady taking my pre reqs to get into a nursing school. The classes are tough but in the end it is a rewarding job.

Well, there is a great shortage of nurses all around the country, so much that nurses are being brought from the Philipines to work here in the US. The salary is pretty good depending where you work at (average of $4000 to $5000 or more). But there is a catch, you really need to like this line of work otherwise you won't enjoy your work and you'll regret it later on. But if you really care about people and you're a very pacient individual then go for it.

there is a shortage of RN's everywhere, so finding a job is not a problem, and it pays really good. But nursing is NOT a glamour job. working on a regular hospital floor, you deal with a lot of sick people. you clean up a lot of crap...literally. You may or may not deal with death and dying a lot if not everyday. and there is a reason behind the nursing shortage, there's a lot of stuff to deal with. those are the biggest cons. but there are a lot of good sides to nursing. you can specialize and find a place that really makes you happy, like labor & deliver, or the ED (ER...sorry), or ICU, or NICU..there's a ton. and its a good feeling. I'd say, find an RN and talk to them, maybe find a way to observe one for a day. and if you like what you see, go for it.

I think you already know the answer. If you have passion and compassion in you ,yes do become a nurse.I have been a nurse since 1966 and I am still an R.N.I have worked in all capacity. At present I am a home visiting psychiatric nurse.I am also a mentor and a preceptor to the student nurses.I also teach nursing 2 nights a week.To be a good nurse you have to have certain qualities in you,and that is to want to help the sick, the less fortunate, and the marginalized. This is the greatest task, that is , the task of the human heart.

Take it from an ex-nursing student--nursing is not something you should study or plan to have a career in unless it is the nursing that you care about and not the money. When I started college, I was in nursing school because my parents wanted me to have a stable career. After a semester I was completely miserable and changed my major. Nursing requires a passion for healthcare and very few people can do it successfully; that is why there is a shortage. In short, if you have to ask and aren't sure about doing it, DON'T.
