Good am. I am a registered nurse here in philippines. I discovered that i have hepa b in 2004. help....?


i consulted specialists n they just said i am considered healthy carrier, meaning i am not contagious and its just that i may not be able tro donate blood and othe organs.y problem is that i am applying for immigarnt visa for america.i am anxious if this condition would stop me from being approved w the visa.my question is would i be able to get an immigrant visa even if i have hepa b even hough i am not contagious?i was tested for aids n vdrl..all are negative.in my family my mother has hepa b.my brother has too.i am 37years old now.i have been to specialist n they just said i am okay n there are no medicineor no cure, as long as i stay healthy and i will be fine.please tell me if do i have the chance to work in america with my health status.by the way my husband has no hepa b.were married for 17years now.please help me..i feel so depressed...my medical check up for immig visa would ne 2months from now...im so anxiuos...

if your husband does not have it, then i'd say your okay.
did they also test you for hepatitis c? (different than b)
and since you have hepatitis B have they tested you for hepatitis d?

please find out what test exactly you came up positive for. There are different stages of hep B. If you only test pos for Anti- Hbs. that would mean you went Thur it OK and you have developed immunity. Great for immigration to US as well.

if you are testing pos for add. tests you may be in a chronic stage of Hep B, not so good for you. But there are treatment options, like interferon...

don't be depressed there is worse to get.

I believe it depends on who is going to interview you in the consulate office. But You have to understand that since you will be working in a hospital setting, incidents like accidental needle pricking do happen and that's probably what they are trying to avoid. These people do have routine protocols that applies to everyone. So, just keep on trying and keep your fingers crossed that luck will be on your side. Good luck.
