Are nurses only for women? because i wanna become a rn which stands for registered nurse! plz anwer. thank!!!!

i wanna become an rn but first i have to go through lvn!!!!

no, who ever made up that rule? ever saw meet the parents :) it's ok though if that's what you want to do go for it.

NO WAY!!! They're NOT just for woman! Ok, majority are female. I had an ex-boyfriend who was a RN and worked in the ER!
You can go through LVN first IF you want...but you can go straigh to RN, if you like!

I say go for it!!!

If that's your career choice, then go for it! You wouldn't be the only male RN.

Just ignore people if they rib you and start jokingly refer to you as "Florence Nightingale."

No, nursing is not only for women. There are male nurses..and they are becoming more common. You can make good money in nursing..so..if that is your only concern...then it is a minor one. You can attend a four year school and get a bachelors in nursing..RN ..or you can attend a two year program...as LVN I believe.

No there are many male nurses.

A career in nursing is for male and female. It's a career for people who have a passion for medicine and caring for people. I think you have that passion. You can start off with LVN or you can take the full RN course. Think about it and look for information before you decide which you would like. Also, volunteer at the local hospital if you have a chance - even if it's 4 hours a month it will be great because you'll be exposed to the environment. Also, try to subscribe to nursing magazines, like the one titled RN. And speak with other nurses, most of them will be willing to share their knowledge and experiences with newcomers. Good luck.

Nope!!!! RN's aren't just for women! Yes the majority of them are but I did work with some male RN's and honestly they were better to work with than some of the female ones. You really don't need to go thru the LVN before RN, you can just go straight into the RN degree. Just as a heads up, you do need to get your CNA(certified nursing assistan)certification to work as an RN also, they do offer this class during the RN program for you. Good luck and hope you enjoy it!
