What are other jobs a registered nurse can do aside from working as a nurse? |
i want to start a job that could help me establish a small business in the future. I also like cooking and teaching. Waitress. I'm also a registered nurse, and have worked at various other occupations, not necessarily related to nursing. Child care, podiatry, medical receptionist, community nurse, whatever you find appeals to you. I think you can be a midwife? If your certified, I dont believe you have to have a doctorate.. You can also work for a VNA service....or do Elder care in their homes.. Its like being a companion for them..Someone to come in and talk to them or take them to the store...light housekeeping and some cooking involved...Be a friend to them. I know of ppl who do the latter and enjoy it very much...pays pretty well too..Not as much as a nurse in a hospital or a clinic tho. Good Luck to you :) review charts or work for attorneys well, who says you can't have your dream job and work as a nurse? =) I would advise you to go visit the American Nurses Association website (I think it's nursingworld.org). There you should be able to find various fields you can enter using your RN license. Teaching is a HUGE one. But one of the beautiful things about nursing is that it is so diverse, you can work in just about any field you want, AS A NURSE!!!! How exciting! There aren't too many professions that can say that. I know one other is advising with attorneys in medical cases (like the other answerer said, hopefully defending other nurses =) |
