I'm a registered nurse in the philippines & I wanted to work in canada, new zealand!what are the requirements

Hope you can help me on this....I just graduated last march 2007.

Get at least a year experience. Go to the respective country's nurses' board website. You can find the requirements there and the forms as well. For NZ, click http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/reg.htm...

For Canada, well there are a lot of provinces to choose from. You can choose among the following:

# Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador # Association of Registered Nurses of Prince Edward Island # College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia # Nurses Association of New Brunswick # Ordre des infirmi猫res et infirmiers du Qu茅bec # Registered Nurses Association of Ontario # College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba # Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association # College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta # College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia # Northwest Territories Registered Nurses Association # Yukon Registered Nurses Association.

Search for their websites and read about their specific registration process. Most associations require at least 1,125 hours of nursing experience/practice. Plus the English Exam which you would have to pass, i.e. IELTS, NZNC require all 7.0 and above in the band scores. For Canada, it's 6.5 overall with a speaking score of 7.0. In Canada, you may apply for a Graduate Nurse license first and then take the Canadian Registered Nurses' Exam there.

After registering, of course, look for an employer. You will have more chances of getting hired if you are a registered nurse in that specific country. There are hospital/health board websites wherein you can submit your resume online. You have to go through the usual process of submitting your application letter and resume. They'll probably call you if you qualify. Be ready for a phone interview. God bless with your search! By the way, there is a Canadian Recruitment Fair for RN's next week at the Renaissance Hotel in Makati Avenue. You may check it out if you wish to.
