Can I Still become a Registered Nurse?

Can i become a registered nurse even if I just have my GED Or do I need 2 get my HighSchool Diploma?

Congrats on wanting to continue your education!

Yes, you can still become a registered nurse. Speak with a career counselor at the school you wish to attend. You will probably be required to take placement tests in English and mathematics and depending on your scores, may need to take developmental courses.

Don't be concerned with this, my niece dropped out of high school, too, and got her GED. She only had to take a developmental course in mathematics and she was enrolled in regular nursing classes. She loved the course work and graduated with honors. She has been a RN for 3 years now and loves it!

Best of Luck to you!

A GED = a diploma, legally speaking.

Also, all community colleges will accept the GED. You may have to take an additional placement test to see if you need extra math classes or something, but you can absolutely get your RN with your GED.

Good luck!
