Registered Nurse License/Certification Extension? How to phrase this? |
My mom is a registered nurse in both NJ and NY, and she wants to know how to extend the expiration date of the licenses My mom's not employed right now though... Renew both licenses. She should have received renewal information from each of the state licensing boards, but if not, she can contact them. Contact the local red cross in both areas, and inquire about renewing your certification, their may be a small refresher test that she is required to take (varies state to state) Her employer should actually know when they expire and it is a federal labor law that your employer needs to pay all expenses incurred for renewing any certification, etc, that are required for the job. You have to contact the license board of both States to determine the requirements. You may have to contact your former employer for certification of the nursing experience you have practiced or you may need to take the required continuing ed credits. All the information is available at the State boards. To find out about the expiration of NY, go to the Online Verification Searches |
