What's the best way to protect senior adults assets? |
If someone in your family does not own a home but has considerable retirement accts how can you prevent them going broke should they need to go into a nursing home? Long Term Care Insurance is the only way to protect their assets. They would not qualify for Medicaid until they spent their considerable saving way down to poverty level. Around 46K total for a couple and $2k for a single person. Are they in good / average health. What is the age. I help seniors every day protect their assets and they can use their retirement account interest returns to pay the monthly premiums on the Long Term Care Policy. They don't need a huge, expensive policy, just within the statistics to cover the basis. What is their age? Would they rather stay at home? That is all a possibility these days. Please get the info they need. I'd be happy to help for free You should consult a financial adviser. They can take the person assets. And figure out the best way for them to invest or save etc... Just in case problems like this arise. Going into a nursing home can break a person if they are not financially set. Also if they end up in a nursing home paid for by medicare or the state they don't always get the best of care. HAVE THEM LIQUIDATE SOME OF THE ACCOUNTS AND PURCHASE A HOME ALL CASH SO IT IS OWNED FREE AND CLEAR. THEN APPLY FOR A REVERSE MORTGAGE AS A PRIMARY RESIDENCE. THEN MOVE THEM TO THE NURSING HOME. YOU CAN GENERATE A NICE MONTHLY INCOME DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF MONEY THEY ARE WORKING WITH. OR PURCHASE INVESTMENT PROPERTIES ALL CASH AND GO TO THE STATE FOR SECTION 8 HOUSING. YOU WILL SECURE THE RENT EACH MONTH AS INCOME. |
