Should I take the Certification exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant? |
Here's the thing. When I took the exam to become a certified Medical Assistant, I didn't pass. Embarassing huh. Now I have the opportunity to take the test again in june. I just took the exam last october of 2006. Some people said it might be hard the first time to pass but I really did study but I missed it by 2% for a passing grade. Should I try again for the test in June. Also I am incollege for my nursing Pre reqs and I have 4-5 classes a week. It takes alot to study for the CMA Certified Medical Assistant. Should I take it. I think I want to but I am just not sure. I really want to become a nurse. I feel stupid for failing the test the first time. I really want to become a CMA and a Nurse but shoud I just become a nurse and forget the CMA test or what. If I take the test then I have to mail the application in by March 1,2007 for the June exam. I am really in a big delima. Please help. greenburg fifty years ago I was in your shoes I failed a test to become a chiropractor I didn't try again and I still regret it to this day that I gave up on my dream of becoming a doctor. So my advice is retake the test fifty times if you have too. You are going to be a great CMA My advice is to take the test and use what you've learned to gain credits and experience for your future nursing career. I took the CMA's many years ago, but I didn't pass on the first time either! I was so nervous, it just stressed me out. Talk to your program advisor and see if this will help you meet requirements. Both of your chosen fields are great; however, at this point in your life you don't seem to be ready to do both. This is coming from someone who has been in the same situation before. You are going to have to think which one is more important to you at this point in your life. Do the one that will benefit you the most right now and then the other later... if you are doing well in nursing school and don't think studying for the CMA is going to get in the way of you and nursing then go for it. I am just suggesting you focus on one now and the other later. |
